Why is voldemort after harry potter?

cuz when he was just one year old voldemort tried to kill him with the killing curse but coz of his mother's protection harry was not killed.but instead voldemort lost all his power.his body also!!!!!! that's why voldemort was after harry potter to kill him cuz when harry turned 17 his mother's protection would have gone and voldemort could kill him at that time.
