What are your views on the Sons of Confederate Veterans plan to fly a giant Confed flag over I-75 in Tampa FL?
what if it was a Muslim or Islamic flag? How many people would stand for that? Threre is nothing wrong with flying these flags, but were talking about a huge flag over a major interstate in a major city. To me something on that scale should symbolize the people of Tampa. And there may be people who have a more personal connection to the flag, that it's image makes you respond positively, reflecting on your family roots or heritage..but that is a minority. Too many it symbolizes the south, the war, slavery. And in a large population like Tampa, it's of very uncomfortable and awkward representation of the people. And if that flag represents times when your family roots was in slavery, it probably be very offensive-and that needs to be respected. I believe in freedom of speech, but to this scale-it's different. If you want a confederate flag put it on your front bumper instead.
