Its icy outside and my battery is flat, can I still recharge it, plus how do i know whether it is a 6/12 volt?

When a battery goes dead in cold weather it freezes. If you try to charge a frozen battery it may explode and blow acid in your eyes and blind you. Let the battery sit in a warm place for 24 hours before you try and charge it. Most batteries that freeze are junk.
