well men are always afraid of commitment and the I luv u statement , but since all the signs are on ur side so i can tell that the guy is in love , why do he care to spend all his time with u when he can do a many other things , sweety ok frnds are there for each other when in need but this guy do care so trust ur instinct and just dont say anything else , enjoy his care and company dont try to scare him away ( i think him staying there for u in cancer situation is a BIG DEAL ) so what the hell if he didnt say i luv u back its fine !!! he will say it at the end ;)
